Trained under several leading artists, Jayne Bellows has been painting most of her life. Jayne’s basic education includes David Lipscomb University (Nashville   Tennessee ), School of the Art Institute of Chicago (Chicago, Illinois ), University of Chicago (Chicago, Illinois )  and the American Academy of Art (Chicago, Illinois ).

She has the  recognition of her peers and numerous professional associations.   Among these are the Palette and Chisel Academy   ( Chicago , Illinois )  and the American Academy of Art ( Chicago , Illinois ).   Jayne was a recognized member of the faculty at both of these institutions. Her popular ‘HUMAN ANATOMY FOR ARTISTS’ course taught the essential tools required in all fields of art.   She taught various aspects of this  subject and uses the classical style of  the  great European schools of art.  She has also been a member of the faculty of the ‘Richard Halsted Portrait’ course.

She has exhibited at the prestigious SOCIETY OF ILLUSTRATORS and is a member of the AMERICAN SOCIETY OF PORTRAIT ARTISTS.   Jayne continues to refine her art in numerous workshops and courses.   Among these are Art Students League of New York (New York, New York),   Robert Brachman Studios (Madison, Connecticut), Diane Rath (Chicago Illinois), Albert Handel (Chicago, Illinois) Greg Kreutz (Chicago, Illinois and Brittany, France), David Lefell (Chicago, Illinois) and James Ingwersen (Peninsula Art School , Sister Bay , Wisconsin ).

Her art is exhibited in numerous private and corporate collections.  She has received awards and recognition in juried competitions. Her work is published on numerous medical journals as cover art.  Two examples are the professional medical journal: COMPREHENSIVE THERAPY (the official journal of the American Society of Contemporary Medicine), and   CHICAGO MEDICINE (the official journal of the Chicago Medical Society & Medical Society of Cook County).
